Santa Fe College in partnership with Sao Paulo State University developed the Certificate for Accessible and Inclusive Practices (CAIP). This self-paced online course is designed to promote an inclusive pedagogy through the application of universal design principles. We cover important topics such as unconscious bias, the effective use of accessible multimedia, and the role of advocacy in fostering a more inclusive learning environment. (Added 08/11/2022)

This is the latest iteration of the Hyflex Fundamentals course. The faculty deliverables have been reduced to two items: Instructors still provide a course roadmap outlining how they would teach one week's worth of content, keeping all students in mind. The other requirement is that faculty meet with an ID in a Hyflex classroom for an overview of the equipment, and a discussion of how they might use it. We no longer expect "mastery" as we initially envisioned in the first iteration of this training. (Added: 04/20/2022)

We've had twenty instructors complete this optional training, initially offered in August of 2021. To successfully complete this training, faculty must: submit a Hyflex Course Roadmap, attend a Hyflex classroom technology demonstration, and provide a brief teaching demonstration within a Hyflex classroom. All faculty at SF College are required to complete the above Certificate for Online Design and Instruction (CODI) training before teaching fully online courses. We've had over 100 faculty at our college complete this program. (Updated: 07/24/19)

The course above was developed to orient all SF faculty to accessible design principles. We expect this training to become a requirement within the coming weeks. This self-paced introductory training takes about one hour complete.  (Added: 05/29/19)
