About Prof. Banerjee-Batist

Dr. Rimjhim Banerjee-Batist serves as an Associate Professor in Business Programs at Santa Fe College, Gainesville, FL. She is also the Lead Faculty of the Management discipline. She teaches classes in Human Resource Management, Principles of Management, International Business, Training and Development, and Organizational Behavior. She is the faculty coordinator for internship students in the department. She has over three decades of teaching experience.

She is passionate about internationalizing her curriculum. She has infused international content in several of her classes, some with the help of grants from the Center of European Studies at the University of Florida. She leads Study Abroad trips to Spain with a business focused curriculum, where students visited Spanish organizations and multinationals operating in Spain. She has led a COIL program with a management university in India for two years in a row. Students learned about how managers in different social and cultural contexts (India & USA) lead organizations for excellence in both performance and employee satisfaction. The purpose of the project was to interview a manager of an organization of the other country, and present findings and analysis.

Her research interests are Mentoring, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership development, and Organizational behavior and outcomes. She focuses her research on the critical nature of emotional intelligence as a soft skill, how it can be developed, and its role in the organizational behavior and organizational outcomes. She has presented her work on the development of emotional intelligence through mentoring at several webinars and conferences. She is a published author in academic journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. Her latest published work is titled “Leadership response to COVID-19: A comparative analysis of the education sector in USA and India”. She has also authored a chapter titled “Career Development Challenges for Women Pursuing Leadership in India” in the book called “Indian Women in Leadership”.
